The Purposes of COPCVO are:
• To provide opportunities for concerned citizens, programs and organizations to exchange information and ideas; support the sharing and utilization of materials and resources; and address emerging issues in the field.
• To provide leadership and support to programs and practitioners in the profession-
alization of quality victim services.
• To advance legislative and policy initiatives
in support of the rights and needs of victims and witnesses and the field of victim services.
To create opportunities for crime victims to become empowered through activism.
To increase public awareness of victim issues.

Committees
Finance/Financial Resources
Jennifer Storm, Chair
Considers matters pertaining to the finances of the organization, including the planning and executing of campaigns to acquire funds for the support of the organization's activities.
Membership/Nominating
Leslie Slingsby, Chair
Develops and implements the membership selection process. This Committee also nominates candidates for officers and board members.
Legislation/Education
Deborah Donahue, Chair
Provides for favorable publicity for the activities of the organization. It plans, organizes and prepares literature, programs and activities that educate its members and the general public. The Rally Committee is a subcommittee. Advances legislative and policy initiatives in support of the rights and needs of victims and witnesses of crime.
